SBTN Support

Support at any step of the SBTN process, from assessment and prioritisation to target setting, action and tracking, scoped to where you are and drawing on our biodiversity and geospatial data.

Overview

Science Based Targets for Nature set out how a company assesses its impact on nature, prioritises where to act and sets targets, starting with freshwater and land. The process asks a lot of your data, and most companies need support at one or two steps rather than all five.

SBTN Support

How we approach it

We start by confirming which step you are at and what validation will require. Steps 1 and 2 are largely desk-based: materiality screening by sector and commodity, value chain mapping, and spatial analysis of pressures and the state of nature using global datasets. For target setting and tracking, we add site baselines, satellite monitoring and our NatureCube platform where they strengthen the evidence.

What we deliver

  • Step 1, Assess: materiality screening and value chain assessment
  • Step 2, Interpret & Prioritise: priority locations for action
  • Step 3, Measure, Set & Disclose: baselines and draft targets for freshwater and land
  • Step 4, Act: action plans structured around avoid, reduce, restore and regenerate, transform
  • Step 5, Track: monitoring frameworks to report progress against targets
  • Documentation prepared for SBTN validation

What you receive

Outputs for the step you are on, prepared to SBTN methods, with the data already structured for the next one.

When you need it

Use this when you have committed to SBTN, when a TNFD assessment has identified locations that need targets, or when your data needs checking before validation.
