Portfolio Climate & Nature Risk Assessments

Physical and transition climate risk and nature risk assessed across investment and operating portfolios. Recent work covered 14 countries for a large African industrial operator.

Overview

Investors, lenders and operators with assets in many countries need one consistent view of climate and nature risk, not a separate study for each site. A portfolio assessment screens every asset with the same method, so risks can be compared and ranked.

Portfolio Climate & Nature Risk Assessments

How we approach it

We assess physical climate risk, such as heat, flooding, drought and water stress, under recognised climate scenarios. We assess transition risk from policy, market and technology change, and nature-related dependencies and impacts by location. The work is desk-based, combining your asset data with global climate, hazard and biodiversity datasets. Where a site stands out, we can add satellite analysis or a site review. Recent work covered 14 countries for a large African industrial operator.

What we deliver

  • Asset-level screening of physical climate risk under selected scenarios
  • Transition risk analysis by sector and jurisdiction
  • Screening of nature-related dependencies, impacts and sensitive locations
  • A portfolio view that ranks assets and countries by risk
  • Findings structured for TCFD-aligned and IFRS S2 climate disclosure, and for TNFD
  • Recommendations on where deeper site assessment is needed

What you receive

Portfolio-level findings written for investment committees, boards and disclosure, with clear priorities for where to act or look more closely.

When you need it

Use this before an acquisition or refinancing, when preparing TCFD, IFRS S2 or TNFD disclosures, or when a board needs to know which assets carry the most risk.
