WCS Congo deployed camera traps on over 3.4 million hectares of forest in the Republic of the Congo. This generated an enormous volume of data in HD video format that required species ID, animal counts, animal behaviour at 2 second intervals and distance measurements between the camera and the animal.

Transparent data and verification are critical to ensuring buyer’s trust in these credits. Using an "umbrella species" approach, IHP and ERA Brazil collaborated to upload jaguar camera trap data to the Okala Biodiversity Dashboard, where individually identified jaguar home ranges can be visualized alongside raw videos and images. Third-party verifiers can audit project claims directly on the dashboard during certification.

Companies sourcing agricultural commodities including soy, coffee, cocoa and cashew from West Africa are facing an immense operational challenge with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The regulation demands that any operator placing these goods on the EU market must prove, with verifiable evidence, that their products did not originate from land deforested after December 31, 2020
